Formula 1 - Grand Prix of Bahrain

With the billion dollar Bahrain International Circuit, the Middle East has since 2004 its home race in the Formula 1 Championship. The circuit is unique as being the only one that is partly situated in a desert and partly in an oasis. This provides a spectacular sight for the 100,000 visitors of which many can fully enjoy the race from the 50,000 grandstand seats providing excellent views on the race.
Circuit of Bahrain - Sakhir
Located about 25 miles south-west of the capital city of Manama, the circuit is also a unique experience for the drivers with the varying widths along the track and the overtake possibilities provided at some corners in the circuit. The circuit that consists of an inner track and an outer track was designed by the renowned Hermann Tilke, who also took responsibility for the Sepang circuit in Malaysia. Upon arriving in Bahrain, the circuit in Sakhir can be easily reached by road from various roads from Manama as well as neighboring country Saudi Arabia.
