Formula 1 - Grand Prix of Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
About 50 miles south of Kuala Lumpur and 3 miles from the Kuala Lumpur Internation Airport, the state-of-the-art Sepang International Circuit is the venue of the Formula 1 Malaysian Grand Prix. With the nations’ oil-company Petronas sponsoring the Sauber-team and the acquisition of Lotus Engineering by national car company Proton, Malaysia builded the GP circuit in 1998 with the objective to astonish the Formula 1 world in terms of technology, excitement and facilities.
Sepang International Circuit
The ultramodern Sepang international circuit is one of the most technical circuits in the Formula 1 Championship. Due to its wide track and long straights, the circuit is well-suited for overtaking, while it has some nerve-breaking curves as well. Both drivers and spectators love the Sepang circuit, whereby the latter enjoy a fantastic view from the grandstands that are build along the long straight parts. As it is build on a former swamp, there are some complaints about the track being slowly sinking!
Hockenheim is located in the a provincial Central-Southern part of Germany, close to Heidelberg and on a considerable distance from the bigger cities. The main international airport in the vicinity is Frankfurt at 90km from the circuit. A bit more remote are the international airports of Cologne and Düsseldorf, from which it’s a two-hour drive.
