It is the dream of every driver, most of whom also reside in the Meditarenean tax paradise, to take the glory in this famous race. Ever since 1929, the street circuit of Monaco has been used for races and during that time the venue has established itself as a stand-alone event with an imagination and status that to a certain extend might only be approached by the Indy 500 and Le Mans races.
Circuit de Monaco
Passing renowned landmarks as the Monte Carlo harbour front, the Casino, the tunnel and the Hotel de Paris, a similar street race would not be allowed anymore due to safey regulations if it was not for the fact that it takes place in Monaco. The nerve-breaking speeds achieved when racing through neighbourhoods of the rich and the famous and passing the many jet-set yachts in the harbour are the glamorous charm of the Monaco Grand Prix attracting spectators from all over the world to be part of this event.
The small streets leave little room for error and overtaking and obtaining a good pole position is important for the drivers to have any chance here. Besides the location where it is set, the circuit itself is an interesting as well and demanding for both the driver and the car. Due to the low grip of the street circuit and the many bumps along the course, the cars are largely depended on the tires.
Flying into the Cote d’Azur airport in Nice, France, Monte Carlo can be reached without difficulty by car, train or shuttle buses. Logically, also helicopter services are available to find your way to the principality!
