Madrid offers an intense spirit and mix of modern and classic influences. A variety of attractions like the famous Prado museum, flamengo shows, bull fights and the Royal Palace will leave a permanent impression on anyone visiting this vibrant city. Aside its cultural and historical richness, experiencing Madrid is for many primarily exploring its restaurants, eateries, bars and further nightlife events. Few cities take the art of enjoying life so seriously as
Madrid and walking around at night, it seems like Madrileños don’t sleep at all!
Madrid’s Barajas Int’l Airport is situated about 15 km from the city centre. Besides taxis and buses, there are special taxi van services from and to the airport, transporting up to seven people at the same time.
The airport also has a metro station and if you are not carrying too much luggage, it provides a cheap and fast means of transport to get into the city. Madrid's fast and efficient metro is also the best way to get around the city, with busses and regional trains (cercanías) filling in the gaps. The 10 subway lines cover most of the city and operate the larger part of the day and night.
