About the Place de la Nation
This beautiful square on the Eastern most border of the city center of Paris was the entry point for Louis XIV and Marie Therese where there was a throne for the boy king. During the Revolution it was the Reverse Throne Square, but now, as France is settled in more peaceful times, it has become the Nation’s Square.
Easily accessible on foot from Gare the Lyon train station, many places are worth the visit near any of the choice bed and breakfast hotels in this part of town. Some interesting places for a daytrip include Place de la Bastille, Centre Pompidou and of course the Louvre Museum.
