Trocadéro is definitely worth visiting. At first glance one may note the Spanish name, honoring the Battle of Trocadéro, Spain fought by French soldiers to secure diplomatic trade with Ferdinand the VII.
Once known as Square of the Roman King, it was restored as a recreational center for the lower working class citizens. A true nineteenth century example of the roman king, Napoleon Bonaparte III was avid in the restoration of public squares.
In the 1870’s, Place de Trocadéro was one of Bonaparte the third’s most important social achievements in the effort to better the quality of life for the poorer citizens of 19th century Paris.
